Are all your domain name prices in Australian dollars?
Yes.
Is GST included in the price of a domain?
Yes. However, if you reside in a country other than Australia, the GST will be deducted from the sale price prior to your transaction being finalised.
What is a "Domain Management userID"?
A Domain Management userID is a username that we get you to create when you purchase a domain from whois.com.au.
Together with your Domain Management Password, your userID allows you to access the registration system that lists your domain name.

What is a "Domain Management Password"?
A Domain Management Password is a password that we get you to create when you purchase a domain from whois.com.au.
The Domain Management Password and userID should be copied down and kept in a safe place.Together with your Domain Management userID, your Domain Management Password allows you to access the registration system that lists your domain name.
Step 4 has 4 seperate sets of contact details, do I need to fill them all in?
The domain contact fields need 4 entries to function.
Registrant, Administrative, Billing and Technical.
If one person carries out all jobs, then these entries can be the same .
If more than one person carries out these functions, different details should be used.
Do you send me a renewal notice when my domain gets close to expiry, and when exactly?
We send out renewals 90/60/30 and 5 days prior to your domain expiry date.
What's the best type of name to get, a .com or a .com.au?
The best type of name to get is one that can be registered in both .com and .com.au extensions.
How long will it take to register my domain name?
In most cases, you will receive email confirmation of your registration and purchase within a couple of minutes.
Can I sell my .com.au domain name?
The answer to this question changed on June 1, 2008. auDA has changed the rules governing the sale and transfer of .com.au names, which means that you can now sell .com.au names. There are still rules governing the sale of names, including the prohibition on registering names solely for sale.
Can I register geographic domain names?
The restriction on Geographic names in the .au has been lifted. You can now register names that have postcodes.
