1. How do I renew a domain name without logging in?

 

To renew a domain name, without logging in, please click on the domain renewal link at the top right hand side of the Whois® homepage.

Once you're on the renewal page, simply enter your domain name that you want to renew into the search box, and press the [Check] button.

If the domain is eligible to be renewed(.au can only be renewed within 90 days of expiry), an EVSSL secured payment page will appear and you'll be able to enter your credit card details.

Please enter the email address where you want to receive your credit card receipt, and also the address associated with your credit card.

A receipt for your credit card payment will be sent to the email address you specify here.

Please read the Whois Customer Agreement and select the "I have read the Whois Pty Ltd. Customer Agreement, and I agree to accept the Terms and Conditions." checkbox.

Click the blue Renew button to make your payment and process your renewal.

Check your email account to view your credit card receipt.

2. How do I renew a domain name when logged in?

First, you need to login to access the Whois® EVSSL secured domain management area.

Once you've logged in, click on the Manage Domains button on the left hand side of your management panel.

If you have several domains in your account, you'll have the option to display your domains per page in lots of 25, 50 or 100, and you'll be able to sort domain names alphabetically and by status/expiry date.

When a domain name is eligible for renewal, a dropdown selector will appear next to the domain.

Click the blue button marked [Renew Selected Domains].

Once you click the blue button marked [Renew Selected Domains], you'll see a page that has the details of the domain name you'd like to renew, along with the order value including GST and the time the order was taken.

To create your order to renew the domain(s), click the blue button marked [Checkout].

Once you click the [Checkout] button, you'll be presented with a payment page. We accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express.

Select your card type, and fill in the details highlighted in light green in our example below.

Read through the terms and conditions and agree by selecting the checkbox at the bottom of the page.

Click the blue button marked [Process Order] once to make your payment and renew your domain name.

Check your email account and you will see a receipt/tax invoice for the payment you've made to Whois Pty Ltd for your domain name renewal.

3. When do you send out renewal notices?

Renewal notices are sent ou at 90/60/30 and 5 days from expiry. Please ensure you keep your contact details up to date or you risk not receiving your renewal notices and letting your domain name registration lapse.

4. Can I renew a .com.au name for more than 2 years?

No, you cannot register or renew a .com.au name for more than 2 years, however this rule is under review by the Australian Domain Administration(auDA) and may be changed in the near future.
