How do I transfer a name away from whois.com.au?
Ouch! If you find that you really want to take your domain to another place, then the first step is to initiate the transfer from the new Registrar's website.
This is the only way to start the process for a transfer away. Different domain extensions take different times to transfer, and have different requirements.
If you find we aren't so bad after all and you want to come back, you'll always be welcome. Just follow the instructions above for transferring in.
How long does a .com.au transfer take?
A .com.au transfer can take as little as couple of minutes or it can take as long as a few days. The process is different between Registrars.
What happens with the DNS for a name that is being transferred?
This depends on the Registrar and the services that are provided by the Registrar as a part of your registration.
In most cases the DNS settings will remain the same.
Please Note: This will not be the case if your old Registrar is providing DNS or hosting services in addition to hosting the nameserver records.
